Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
BuilderBook.co.uk ("BuilderBook", "we") is a trading name of Cloudweaver, established in England, and is responsible for the personal information described here. For anything to do with your data, please use the Support page and choose "Data request".
2. What we collect
- Account details you give us — name, email, company, phone (optional), your chosen plan, and your password (stored in a form we can't read).
- Subscription records — your plan, status and payment history. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and are never held by us.
- Usage information — the searches you run, when you log in, your IP address and browser type. We use this to run the site and keep it secure.
- Messages you send us through the Support page.
- Project submissions from homeowners — contact details, property address and project description.
- Public planning records published by London councils, which we compile into leads (see section 4).
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service: run your account, show you leads, take payment, manage renewals and cancellations, and reply to your messages.
- To send service emails — welcome, password reset, trial ending, receipts, renewal reminders and important changes.
- To keep the site secure and working: preventing abuse, fixing faults and enforcing our terms.
- To show homeowner project submissions to subscribing professionals, with the homeowner's consent (phone numbers are never shared).
- To keep the records a business needs to keep, such as payment records.
We may occasionally email existing customers about BuilderBook features or offers; you can opt out of those at any time through the Support page.
4. Planning records
Planning applications are public records. We collect them from councils' published data and present them to subscribers as leads. They contain the property address and a description of the works and, where the council includes them, applicant or agent names. If you'd prefer not to appear in our leads, tell us through the Support page with the address or application reference and we'll remove the record.
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the services we need to run the site — our payment provider (Stripe), our hosting and email provider, and Cloudflare, which protects the site — and with subscribers in the case of homeowner submissions, as described above. Some of these providers are international companies and may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We may also share information where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, payment records for as long as tax rules require, and usage logs and messages only as long as they're useful. Homeowner submissions are kept until the project is no longer current or you ask us to remove them. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies: one to keep you logged in and protect forms, a small setting in your browser to remember that you've seen our cookie notice, and security cookies set by Cloudflare. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
8. Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it in a particular way, and you can withdraw any consent you've given. Most account details can be changed on your Account page. For anything else, use the Support page from the email address on your account; we may need to confirm it's you, and we'll respond within a month.
9. Security
The site runs over HTTPS only, passwords are stored securely, and card details never touch our servers. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version is always on this page, with the date at the top. If a change is significant we'll email account holders.
